One More Thing
One final feature of the Reform-line pattern is now noted: in a given fourth period (P4), the number “seven” is featured in some way.
Flood Warning Reform-line
After the Lord shut the door on the ark (E3), the flood was delayed seven days. Genesis 7:10.
Exodus Journey Reform-line
Once the Lord terminated an Israelite generation’s opportunity to enter the Promised Land (E3 – Numbers 14:23), seven judgments were manifested in quick succession:
1) God promised 40 years of wandering and death in the wilderness. Numbers 14:28-35.
2) The 10 spies who brought an evil report about the Promised Land “died by the plague before the LORD.” Numbers 14:36-37.
3) The Israelites were miserably defeated in their God-defiant attempt to invade Canaan.
4) A man was put to death for breaking the Sabbath. Numbers 15:32-36.
5) Korah, Dathan, and Abiram and all that were associated with them were swallowed by the earth. Numbers 16:32-34.
6) 14,700 people die in a plague from the Lord. Numbers 16:49.
7) Aaron’s rod budded. Numbers 17:8.
After Jesus died on the cross thereby ending all possibility of Satan’s kingdom gaining the victory (E3), He rested in the grave on the seventh-day Sabbath.
As a direct result of the Jewish nation’s complete rejection of the gospel at Stephen’s trial (E3), Jerusalem was utterly destroyed in 70 A.D.
“Since 1844 [E3], in fulfillment of the prophecy of the third angel’s message, the attention of the world has been called to the true [seventh day] Sabbath, and a constantly increasing number are returning to the observance of God’s holy day.” The Story of Redemption, 383.4.
Final Redemption Reform-line
“And at that time shall Michael stand up [E3], the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time.” It is during this time of trouble that the Seven Last Plagues will be poured out.
We know that following E3, the “time of the end” in which “the hour of his judgment is come” (Daniel 12:4 and Revelation 14:7), the earth will lie desolate for 1000 years. God’s work to redeem man will be complete.
Since “one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day” (2 Peter 3:8), and since the Fourth Commandment requires six days of work and one day of rest, we conclude that in order to abide by the Fourth Commandment God will complete His work to redeem man after six thousand years of its commencement. He will then give the earth and His people rest for 1000 years before returning to earth to execute the final judgment.
The famed Millennium of Revelation 20 must be a seventh millennium of earth’s history.
Reason for the Appearance of a Seven
It is common knowledge that the number seven in the Bible represents completion. P4 brings the Reform-line pattern to completion. It is the seventh component of a Reform-line.
